Robby Novak, widely known as Kid President, celebrated his 21st birthday on October 24, 2024, making him eligible to vote in the upcoming presidential election. Novak first gained fame at the age of nine through his inspirational YouTube videos and motivational speeches. Now, as an adult, he embraces the responsibility of participating in the political process.
In an August interview with TODAY, Novak expressed his ongoing interest in politics, revealing that he enjoys discussing various political topics with his friends. "My friends and I enjoy discussing politics," he said. He emphasized the importance of listening to different perspectives, reflecting a generational shift towards valuing productive political discourse over conflict. “But one rule we have is that you have to be open to hear every perspective,” he added. This approach resonates with many young voters who prefer meaningful conversations over divisive arguments.
Novak's viral videos, which garnered millions of views on YouTube, made him a household name as Kid President. He became widely recognized for his positive outlook and inspirational messages. His fame peaked when he met then-President Barack Obama at the White House and famously kissed Beyoncé on the cheek. In 2016, he co-authored the New York Times bestseller "Kid President's Guide to Being Awesome," further cementing his popularity among young audiences.
After his initial rise to fame, Novak stepped back from the online spotlight to focus on his studies and is now pursuing a degree in physical therapy. Although his online presence has diminished, he remains active on social media, occasionally sharing updates on TikTok. In a 2022 video, he highlighted a memorable moment from his conversation with Beyoncé, calling it "one of the best moments of my life."
While Novak has no plans to run an active campaign this election year, his most recent YouTube pep talk, posted in November 2019, encouraged his audience to speak up. "Everyone around you needs to be reminded [that they are needed]," he said. His speech emphasized the importance of community involvement and positivity. He added, "If this journey has taught us anything, it's that small words made out of big love can go a long way."
Novak's words underscore the value of cooperation and solidarity. "Awesome things happen all the time, so we need reminders that they can happen," he said. His support for such efforts highlights the potential impact young voters can have on shaping the future.
